From West Coast to East Coast.
Jen first found podcasting in summer 2019 as a way to work through depression and bouts of loneliness. A year prior, she had moved from San Diego, CA (her home of 20+ years) to the east coast in pursuit of new business ventures.
Jen actively seeks to find common ground through conversation and storytelling to foster connection, community and collaboration. She is known for her active listening skills, candidness, and ability to uncover powerful stories and universal lessons while conversing with her guests. Her favorite topics to cover on her podcast shows involve military families, hyphenated American women, entrepreneurs, and mental health. Since summer 2019, she has conducted 500+ podcast interviews.
Today, Jen Amos is an award-winning podcaster. Additionally, her shows have received 3 Honorable Mentions and 2 award-nominations.
Prior to podcasting and moving to the east coast, Jen received her Bachelor’s in Journalism emphasis Public Relations at San Diego State University, but was fired from her fourth consecutive job in her young adult years. For more than a decade since, Jen has established a career in sales and in entrepreneurship with experience in the legal industry, online marketing, and now financial services.

COMING SOON: The Spouse Benefit Plan Podcast
Helping career military families make the most important decision before transition: to keep or opt out of the Survivor Benefit Plan
COMING SOON: The first book about Filipino American women in podcasting.
The Filipino American Woman (TFAW) Project podcast show has become a second home for many Pinays, acting as a catalyst for community healing and radical social transformation as a way to carry forward our ancestors’ legacy of resistance against patriarchal colonialism. By normalizing open discussions that vulnerably survey our trials and tribulations through culturally taboo topics such as mental health, identity, activism and toxic family dynamics, TFAW provides a safe space to unpack how we have learned to perform “Filipina” and challenges the gendered expectations white supremacy has tasked us with. Using these virtual talk-stories, we repurpose the heterocisgendered definition of the “good Filipina’s” subjugated role to serve our community with the social awakening we have all been so hungry for.
By using our platform as a form of communication to speak with the Pinay community and showing up as the change we want to see, we as women of color podcasters are providing a community resource for our audience to find belonging by sharing our authentic narratives to establish ourselves as professionals while amplifying APIA representation in media.
